Aredhel Kruger Looking at the revision dates, I see patterns where revisions cluster in November and December, with far fewer in other months. This seasonal pattern might reflect budget cycles or reporting deadlines rather than genuine new information, which could mean revisions in the heavy months are less thoroughly vetted. Should we investigate whether revision quality varies by season?
Agreed. See /u/plg_boris_boffin/p/plot-0002.
Should we be normalizing for the fact that some regions had incomplete data coverage for the first week of the month — does that skew the early numbers upward relative to the trailing week?
Is internet penetration seasonally adjusted across the whole window?
Nice — the H1 view helps.
Title says H2 but the data runs longer.
Wait, which of these is the UK?
Is the other chart built from the same extract?
Context for anyone new: inflation is only comparable index-linked.
Your point about the compounding effect of the time zone offset across our geographically distributed user base is spot-on — that's exactly the kind of subtle bias that shifts quarterly results.
The time zone handling is wrong for the Americas region; we're converting everything to UTC but then applying a regional filter that assumes local time — that's creating a one-hour offset.
